Our Goal Philosophy

    How we approach goals.

Every goal in Alignify follows three simple principles that turn intention into execution.

    Three Clear Goals

Focus drives results. Limit yourself to three goals you can remember without looking at a dashboard. When everything is a priority, nothing is.

    Visible to Everyone

Goals aren't private. Shared visibility creates ambient accountability without micromanagement, and help arrives faster because blockers surface earlier.

    Reviewed Weekly

Weekly check-ins take 60 seconds. Update status, note progress, flag blockers. This simple rhythm powers the entire system.

    Writing goals that work

Every goal in Alignify uses the same format: From X to Y by When and Why.

From 45 to 75 active volunteers by Q2 so we can launch our neighborhood outreach program

    From X

Where you are right now—the current, observable reality

    To Y

    Where you're going—the specific outcome you'll achieve

    By When

Your deadline—creates urgency without being arbitrary

    And Why

Why this matters—connects daily work to mission

This format works for both organization annual goals and individual quarterly goals. It forces you to focus on outcomes—not activity.

    How goals connect

Three organization annual goals set direction. Individual 90-day goals drive execution.

    Organization Annual Goals

Three organization goals for the year—your "North Star." Everyone should know these by heart.

Each goal has one owner. Track status simply: On Track, At Risk, or Off Track.

    Individual 90-Day Goals

Every team member sets 3–5 personal goals each quarter—their most important work for the next 90 days.

Mark goals that support an annual objective as Organization Priority so everyone sees what's critical.

Why this works: Annual goals provide direction without constantly changing. Quarterly individual goals create focus without complex cascading systems. When individual goals connect clearly to organization priorities, alignment happens naturally.

    How it works in Alignify

Simple enough to use consistently. Powerful enough to drive real alignment.

    1

    Set Annual Goals

At the start of each year, leadership defines up to 3 organization annual goals. Keep them focused—if everything is a priority, nothing is.

    2

    Everyone Sets Quarterly Goals

Each quarter, every team member creates 3–5 personal goals representing their most important outcomes. One owner, clear accountability.

    3

    Mark Key Priorities

When a goal directly supports an organization objective, mark it as an Organization Priority so everyone sees how the work connects.

    4

    Update Status Weekly

Once a week, owners take 2 minutes to update status: On Track, At Risk, or Off Track. No reports—just honest assessment.

    5

    Dashboard Shows the Big Picture

Leaders get a real-time view of goal health. See what's on track, what needs attention, all without chasing updates.
