Our Goal Philosophy

Alignify is opinionated about how goals should be set. These are the principles the product is built around.

1. Three is a strong default

We recommend a maximum of three goals per scope (organization, team, individual). It's a strong recommendation, not a technical limit — but the teams who follow it see the most progress.

2. Annual for org and teams, quarterly for individuals

Organizations and teams set annual goals to provide direction. Individuals set quarterly goals to drive execution. The two rhythms work together.

3. From X to Y by When and Why

Every goal answers four questions: where you are now (X), where you're going (Y), by when, and why it matters.

4. Visible to everyone

Goals are public inside the organization. Transparency creates accountability and makes coordination natural.

5. Reviewed weekly

A 60-second weekly check-in keeps goals from drifting. Quarterly reviews are for reflection, not for catching up.
